Job Description

Residential Service Charge AccountantLondon£30-35K + study packageOsborn Executive Recruitment are working exclusively with a leading London high end mixed use residential developer. This exciting accounting opportunity with elements of financial accounting has become available at our client within their busy property Finance team.They are seeking a bright and ambitious individual with previous experience within a residential managing agent looking to make a move client side to a developer.Key responsibilities:Responsible for supporting the Senior Accountant in a number of areas, including:

  • Managing all financial aspects of managing our completed developments including, service charge accounts, estimates, credit control for live developments across London.
  • Liaising with Managing Agents and External Accountants regarding the production of service charge accounts, service charge estimates and monthly reporting to strict deadlines.
  • Prepare financial management reports for the monthly senior management meetings.
  • Management of KPI’s to monitor progress in financial areas controlled by managing agents.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the timely collection of monthly and quarterly service charges.
  • Assist in the creation and review of budgets.
  • Introducing new procedures to improve financial performance of managing agents.
  • Reviewing the maintenance costing and CAPEX plans for repair and replacement to appraise the adequacy of reserve fund and collection.
  • External auditor tenders, deciding on types of engagement, negotiation of fees.
  • Maintaining good relationships with managing agents.
  • Technical Skills
  • Technical accounting skills such as property management and service charge accounts.
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to present financial information.
  • Studying an accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA is desirable.
