Job Description

Resident Doctor Haematology - University College Hospital NHS FoundationHCA Healthcare UKSalary: 58,000-65,000 depending on skills and experienceRota pattern: day shifts only 8am-4pm or 10am-6pmPermanent contract (Part-time 12 hours a week)The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of medical care for all patients, attending both in- and outpatient settings and to continually strive to improve this through participation in governance activities.You will work as part of the medical team at HCA@UCH comprising Resident Consultant(s), Haematology Specialist Registrar(s) and other Resident Doctors. Develop and maintain close working relationships with consultants, nursing and allied health professionals and other staff in the hospital.Your role is to provide routine and emergency medical cover to haematology and oncology patients during hours of duty and to provide immediate life support to any patient, visitor or member of staff member as required.Summary of Duties:

  • To ensure all patients are assessed every day in a timely manner and to review patients when
  • required/requested by the nursing staff or medical team.
  • To undertake ward rounds of the haematology and oncology patients with the medical team and the patients’ consultants including, but not limited to, microbiology and virology rounds.
  • To demonstrate a professional approach to work, and act in accordance with the HCA Healthcare UK Code of Conduct and the GMC Professional Conduct at all times.
  • To ensure a safe, professional and welcoming environment for the patients, visitors and staff, ensuring equal opportunities, dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
  • Personal Specification-GMC registration and MBBS medical qualification- Evidence of experience in a range of acute medical specialties- Experience at minimum CT/ST 2 level of managing patients with cancer and haematology disease- Evidence of skills in the management of patients not requiring hospital admission (Phone triage)-MRCP or equivalent-ALS certificateAbout HCAWorking in partnership with University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, HCA UK at University College Hospital is a dedicated private facility offering expert care for patients with cancer and blood disorders.
