1. Appointment Details:a. Job Title: Research Officerb. Job Grade: Dc. Department: DRMd. Reports to: Senior Research Officer2. General Description of Role:The Research Officer provides research in support of both Central and Regional DRM. Research is primarilyfocused on delivering research on strategic partners and their market sectors to inform and maximise the overall ongoing relationship with Defence.PRINCIPAL AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY/TASKS AND DUTIES:3. Descriptions of primary duties Produce qualitative andquantitative research, both in response to DRM and Regional queries, in addition to the production of proactive outputs. Analyse complex data and conduct relevant statistical analysis on data in order to decipher key data trends, and subsequently constructappropriate recommendations from generated output. Deliver high quality presentation of research conducted to stakeholders and internal clients. Support DRMs Senior Research Officer to commission, manage and monitor external research projects. Assist withconducting Surveys, Literature Reviews, Depth Interviewing and Moderation. Support DRMs Senior Research Officer to develop, standardize and improve DRMs research processes, as well as identify new research sources pertaining to market research, logisticsresearch, etc. Write-up processes where major research activities are undertaken, with a focus on "lessons identified", so that these can be successfully validated and replicated. Produce snapshots of industry sectors and organisational activity within them.Support the Senior Research Officer in the regular refresh and validation of DRM Accounts, utilising appropriate research sources. Provide proactive and reactive support to DRMs RM team, as well as Regional Employer Engagement Directors, to include the provisionof industry/company profiles and research on individuals (e.g. company executives). Conduct due diligence checks on organisations nominated for the Gold ERS. Conduct due diligence checks on organisations signing the AFC. Utilise the Salesforce CRM system toprovide supporting information e.g. on accounts, regional data, contacts. Interrogate a range of subscription research tools, in addition to utilising "free" information sources (e.g. internet) to respond to research queries. Work with the Senior ResearchOfficer to help design and conduct surveys Familiarity with and utilisation of research undertaken across the wider Defence organisation, as well as continual monitoring of all research outputs pertaining to Defence. Work with the Senior Research Officer toconduct focus groups as required. Any other task within the broad remit of this role that may be reasonably required.4. EssentialsEducated to degree levelor equivalent with up to 2 years relevant experience in research provision or comparable. An enquiring mind with an organised approach and great attention to detail. Familiarity with research methods and with conducting qualitative and quantitative research.Proactive as well as reactive approach to information finding. An innovative and analytical approach to tasks and excellent attention to detail. Computer literate with a strong familiarity of management information or CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce). Comfortableutilising internet research tools. An exceptional knowledge of Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to prioritise tasks and time manage effectively in a fast-paced work environment. A self-starter with a high degree of flexibility andadaptability, as well as being a team player.b. DesirablePostgraduate degree is highly desirable. Personal interest in current affairs. Understanding of both military and corporate cultures. Individual keen to advance their skills. Approachable and friendly-"customer oriented" and professional.
