Job Description

Research Manager/Associate DirectorResearch Agency3 months +£300The role..This role will be working with the Financial Research Survey (FRS). This is the largest and longest running Financial Services survey in GB. Its subscribed to by many of the UKs major Financial Services providers and is seen as "industry currency" forfinancial research data. The division sits within the Innovation and Market Strategy and Understanding Service Line housing their brand and innovation specialists.The work is also used by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) the industry regulator. By working closely with them you are able to see the impact of our data and how it can influence change.This role can be offered at either Research Manager or Associate Director level. It will be based in the agencies London office two days a week and home working the rest of the week.This will be a varied and interesting role including:

  • Managing two product categories; pensions and loans and you will also be looking after your own client bank and continue to develop these relationships.
  • Looking after an existing client bank and also product categories that will require reporting on during the course of the year.
  • Every 6 months they produce key thought leadership reports for each of their product categories. These reports are sent to their clients, highlighting key metrics on what the agency believe is driving the market, areas they should focus on and areas thatmight drive change.
  • You will be responsible for producing these for the product categories that you will be looking after.
  • You will also be involved in reviewing and developing any adhoc monthly requirements or adhoc needs for your client bank.
  • Whilst the FRS is a tracking study, no two days are the same and the overall workload can include a number of adhoc requests, as clients make the most of their subscription.
  • Youll be responsible for leading on the adhoc requests. These will vary in size and resource need. Some may be small, and can be undertaken on Askia, our online analysis platform, others will be more in-depth pieces which require a deep dive and are essentiallyan adhoc project.
  • Youll be hands on working on these, with support from junior members of the team and have Director support where needed.
  • You will work closely with junior members of the team, coaching and advising them on best practice research and client handling skills, as well as reviewing their outputs for clients.
  • Youll be a trusted advisor and partner to clients, offering insight and help develop solutions to business challenges.
  • Youll contribute to uncovering and creating opportunities for new business with clients, as well as being responsible for putting Ipsos best foot forward.
  • You will ensure that our core on-going research program continue to evolve and delights our clients, so that we can proactively retain these clients.
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:
  • A solid grounding of the research process and what is needed to ensure that the day to day outputs needed on the programme are delivered on schedule.
  • Be both confident in having more strategic conversations with clients and comfortable with the underlying detail coupled with commercial acumen.
  • Be adept at connecting the team with the client to ensure that they deliver to a high standard.
  • Ensure adhoc requests are delivered in a timely manner and maximises the opportunity and relationship.
  • Possess a passion and experience of working within the FS industry, although if youre not a specialist in the markets allocated, then a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Proven skills in building strong relationships with clients.
  • The ability to work with and inspire juniors, and personally commit to delivering excellent quality.
