Job Description

Role: Research ManagerContracting Authority: Home OfficeContract Length: 6 MonthsLocation: 1-2 days in the office, however, can be flexible if candidate wishes to work from homeIR35: In scopePay Rate: £400 (max umbrella)Security Clearance: SCRole description:

  • Conduct research and evaluation for Asylum and Protection portfolio working closely with Operational and policy colleagues to scope, design and deliver evaluations.
  • With colleagues, procure external research contractors under the project (including developing EOI/ITT, scoring/assessment)
  • Manage external research contractors.
Deliverables:
  • Procurement of external research contractors
  • Managing external research contractors
  • Conducting research and evaluation research for operational pilots and interventions under Asylum and Protection work strands.
  • Quality assurance of research and analytical activities and outputs.
Specialist Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of evaluations and applied social research methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Experience of leading research projects
  • Experience of procuring and managing social research services from external contractors
  • Experience of analysing data and presenting results clearly to a variety of audiences
  • Experience of using appropriate analytical techniques and software (such as R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, N-Vivo and similar packages)Degree in social science subject (2.1 or higher, or 2.2 with postgraduate qualification) including significant social research/statistics/analysiselements; OR degree and equivalent work experience in applied social research
  • Experience of leading applied social research projects
  • Experience of designing and implementing evaluations
