Job Description

Our client, based in South East London, is currently recruiting for Service Charge Analyst on a full-time permanent basis. Our client is proud to provide good quality, affordable housing, whilst working to improve the local neighbourhood and community.The position is due to start on notice offering hybrid working (three days home working) and with a salary of £34,000 per annum.The ideal candidate will have experience of rent and service charge processes, as well as basic accounting principles.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring the accuracy of service cost/charge, and investigating and reporting variances to budget, providing the Rent and Service Charge Manager with the analysis required for the timely production of management information
  • Accountable for setting the rent and service charge budgets
  • Responsible for calculating actual charges for 2022/2023 and have experience working on the year end for service charge
  • Reconciling year end accounts for homeowners
  • Calculating and monitoring sinking funds, ensuring adequate funds are available for major works
  • Keeping accurate records of expenditure, including copies of invoices, at individual housing scheme level
  • Responding to enquiries from colleagues and Hexagon tenants/leaseholders as required
  • Ensuring that they have a thorough understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice for setting of fixed and variable service charges
  • Liaising with Auditors as and when needed
Experience and skills required:
  • Experience of rent and service charge processes
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Prior experience of dealing with rent and service charge processes
  • Experience of using housing and finance systems (SUN and CX desirable)
  • Thorough understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice for setting of fixed and variable service charges
  • Ability to organise own workload and meet challenging deadlines, often in the face of competing priorities, with minimal supervision

Working hours:
  • 35 hours, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Two days on site - no set days
