Job Description

Reinsurance Manager - Contract - £700pd - Essex BasedWe are currently seeking experienced Proportional Treaty Reinsurance professionals to work as part of a dedicated team of Reinsurance Technicians in Essex that are responsible for various activities for assigned portfolios i.e., processing of all technicaltransactional disciplines associated with the assigned role, i.e. Pro Rata portfolio. The nature of the role has some flexibility and whilst experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry is essential, a methodical and dedicated candidate with limited experience of Pro-Rata will be considered.What can you expect

We will rely on you to:
  • Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full end-to-end responsibility of technical duties relating to client proportional treaty accounts.
  • Assess and submit client and/or reinsurer presentation materials and communications.
  • Work with Market Fiduciary to assist with collection of funds.
  • Manage all brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, post booking receipt, ad hoc reporting requests, payment of funds and all management and transactional process steps.
  • Promote, build, and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets. Understand issues, resolve problems and queries and review working practices.
  • Participate in team meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions.
What you need to have:
  • Significant experience of working within a technical capacity within the Reinsurance sector working on Proportional Treaty lines of business.
  • Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations of all clients and stakeholders.
  • Able to engage, influence and negotiate with clients, market contacts and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
What makes you stand out:
  • Experience of using London Market systems such as ECF and LORS would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience of OpenTwins.
  • Reinsurance professional experience and technical knowledge.
  • Significant experience of working in a technical capacity for a Broker.
  • Work within 360-degree role.
