Job Description

Regulatory Reporting Business Analyst (6-Month Contract)Location: London, United KingdomRate: £700-£775 per day (via an Umbrella Company)Join our clients team, where youll play a vital role in remediating key Compliance Risks for global businesses and functions. As a Business Analyst, youll assess control designs and contribute to achieving the required risk tolerance. Were specificallyseeking candidates with expertise in Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation and Directive (MiFID/R) and European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) regulatory reporting.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with managers on MiFID/R and EMIR-specific control assessments and remediation.
  • Engage with business and function teams to evaluate control designs and escalate enhancements where needed.
  • Conduct data analysis for regulatory control assessments.
  • Validate outcomes through workshops with stakeholders.
  • Assist in designing processes and tools for regulatory control assessments.
  • Prioritise remediation items identified during assessments.
  • Integrate remediation outputs into business-as-usual processes.
  • Ensure credible challenge throughout the remediation process.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation and Directives (EU/UK MIFIR/MIFID II) and EMIR, with a focus on regulatory reporting and data controls analysis.
  • Familiarity with data query tools (e.g., Qlikview) and understanding of underlying systems logic.
  • Practical experience in implementing MIFID/R (preferably in large/Tier 1 banks) within the 1st or 2nd line of defense.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality documentation.
  • Analytical skills to critically examine data lineage and re-perform data collation for control testing.
  • Background in risk areas related to regulatory or compliance risk.
  • Sound understanding of key processes within an Investment Bank.
  • Effective stakeholder management and clear communication skills.
  • Proactive and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
