Job Description

My client is looking for a Regulatory Reporting Accountant to join their team for the technical and statutory accounting needs. Great opportunity to work within a leading financial institution based in the heart of London within a dynamic team. The successfulcandidate will be responsible for leading the external audit process, communicating and ensuring Board Audit Committee is updated for finance related matters.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation and management of statutory accounts (consolidated financial statements and disclosures);
  • Provide assistance, support and coaching to members of the accounting operations
  • Involvement in month end / quarter end financial accounting closing process when needed (i.e specific accounting areas such as IFRS 16, IFRS 9);
  • Supporting the production of technical accounting papers, quarterly review of the key accounting judgements and preparation of accounting papers for the audit committee
  • Liaising with external auditors during the year end external audit process, engaging with auditors on accounting matters and solving audit issues
  • Implementation of new accounting policies
  • Involvement in projects, ensuring the accounting policy is taken into consideration when developing new or changed functionality and products
  • Adhoc accounting tasks / projects such as controls implementation
  • Responsible for coordinating and reviewing monthly financial reporting controls
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or strong academic background;
  • Strong accounting and technical knowledge (IFRS);
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts;
  • Audit (i.e. Big4 audit firm qualified) and/or finance industry exposure
