Job Description

Job Title: Regulatory Policy AssociateCorporate Title: AssociateLocation: London (Hybrid Working)Contract Length: 12 monthsOpportunity Overview:The Finance Policy Group is a centralised group within the Finance Department, bringing together Regulatory, Liquidity and Accounting policy SMEs into a single centralised team to provide synergies and consistency across Accounting, Regulatory and Liquiditypolicy topic areas.The team is looking to expand to undertake a significant policy review and documentation exercise and set itself up to respond to the significant horizon of regulatory change occurring over the course of the coming years.This is an exciting opportunity to participate in an important area of regulatory change and be involved in developing the policy behind and approach to documenting and implementing constantly evolving regulatory requirements. The role will include current and future policy and interpretation analysis and policy documentation focusing on Capital Resources, RWA and Leverage ratio policy issues. The individual will be responsible for assessing the regulatory requirements related to these areas, liaising with the regulatory reporting teams, business areas, Finance and Risk functions to manage the internal life cycle of regulatory change with a corefocus on analysis, interpretation and documentation of policies.The individual will participate and contribute to technical discussions around US GAAP and IFRS accounting policy, as well as liquidity policy areas such as NSFR and LCR and therefore the role provides an opportunity to develop a working knowledge of theseareas.Key Responsibilities:

  • Tracking and analysis of new regulatory publications from Basel, UK and EU regulators including revisions to Basel 3.1/CRR3 and related requirements
  • Document and maintain interpretations and policies for existing and new regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate impact assessments of new regulatory updates and the impact on the firm and communicate to relevant local and global senior management forums
  • Communicate and seek input on regulatory developments to/from internal stakeholders
  • Work with the reporting and project teams to ensure regulatory change projects are delivered in line with the regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to the reporting teams and business on the interpretation of existing and future regulatory requirements
  • Provision of training materials/sessions on prudential regulatory topic areas
  • Liaise with wider stakeholders across business areas, Risk, Controllers and Legal to develop appropriate requirements and solutions
  • Providing input through technical research on accounting and liquidity policy matters
  • Participate in ad hoc Finance initiatives and projects
Skills/Experience Required:
  • An accountancy or financial qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA/CFA) is desired but not essential
  • A strong background and understanding of UK/EU Prudential Regulatory topics including Basel 3.1 and CRR/CRD
  • Regulatory Reporting or Policy experience in an investment bank or other relevant experience
  • Wholesale/investment banking product knowledge
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Technical research skills and strong policy writing skills
