South West London Pathology is an award winning pathology partnership between three leading Hospital Trusts – St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Croydon Health Services NHS Trust – designed to provide an integrated, high quality pathology service for hospitals and GPs across South West London, by bringing together the best of each Trust’s service and providing them within a single organisation.This post is based at St.George’s Hospital however the post holder may be required to work at any of the South West London Pathology sites as and when necessary.Applications are invited for the above post in the Protein Reference and Immunology Laboratory . The Department includes the Supraregional Protein Reference Unit and offers a full range of immunological investigations. The department is a nationally recognised centre of excellence for specific proteins, autoimmunity and allergy testing. We hold accreditation to UKAS ISO15189:2012 and we are an accredited IBMS training centre.We are looking for a part time Specimen Reception Supervisor who will oversee a reception team of six members of staff. As a minimum, the successful applicant would need to be able to work four days per week . Candidates interested in a 0.5 WTE post would also be considered.You will contribute to the efficient and effective running of the reception team, including operation and troubleshooting of the Beckman Automate. You should be able to lead a team, adaptable, willing to work to deadlines, juggle multiple duties and be comfortable dealing with queries from outside sources. This will include assisting with the sendaway referral process for the departmentApplicants must have a GCSE / O levels in Maths and English Language, or Science or equivalent.
