Job Description

Real Estate Fund Controller£75,000 - £85,000 pa + bonus and benefitsThis is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Real Estate investment management business as a Fund Controller. This is a new role due to growth in the team intended to support ambitious new funds in the sector. The business already manages nearly £13billion on behalf of retail and institutional investors, so you would be taking on a real value-add position in the growth of the company.You would be joining a very forward thinking business with excellent worker benefits focussed on the importance of a work/life balance. The corporation is dedicated to positive impacts from their investments that match their extensive returns.As Fund Controller you would be taking the finance lead on fund launches as well as full responsibility for financial reporting and control across five existing funds investing in care homes, retirement villages and affordable housing. The Fund Controllerwill act as the key finance business partner to the Fund Managers and Investment Directors and will manage relationships with administrators, advisors, and joint venture partners.Key Responsibilities:

  • Finance lead for transactions including property and/or company acquisitions/disposals, and joint ventures.
  • Full responsibility for the financial set up of new funds, including the appointment of external administrators and establishing reporting frameworks, templates and timetables.
  • Management of relationships with external finance teams, administrators, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of information between all parties.
  • Oversight of all internal and external financial and regulatory reporting across the funds and entities.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant with significant PQE in the Financial Services and Real Estate sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of fund structures and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Working understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102).
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholder relationships, including influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in REIT reporting and compliance or under Housing SORP is beneficial.
