RCPCH Global Intern£13.15 per hour (London Living Wage)London WC1 and home-based17.5 to 35 hours per week, negotiableUp to 9 months’ internship (February to September 2024)This is an exciting opportunity to join us as an Intern working alongside the Global Operations Team. You will provide a range of support for the activities of the RCPCH Global Team, including administrative assistance and programme development, along withCommunications/Media support and helping with research and analysis.You will contribute to operational activities by providing general administrative support such as travel and accommodation booking, you will also assist the Global Team members with the Visiting Fellows Scheme 2024, ensuring that the programme is a high-qualityprocess and that the Visiting Fellows are supported with day-to-day engagement.Reporting to the Head of Global Operations, you will shadow the appropriate RCPCH Global Team members leading the Multi-Country Assessment Programme’ (India, Nigeria and Pakistan) which may include desk-based research and information gathering and analysisof donor trends and thematic priorities for Institutional donors, trusts and foundations, along with funding opportunities for RCPCH Global.In addition, you might contribute to RCPCH Global Team communication activities, including sharing incoming communications with relevant Team members, supporting reviews of website and social media content and contributing to the development of new material.With a relevant degree and administrative experience, you should have the ability to self-manage multiple projects and to prioritise effectively.You should have excellent proof reading skills and be proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as having experience of website management.Experience of researching or writing grant applications and the ability to conduct research related to grant applications/promotional materials, along with experience of working in the international development sector, would be desirable.Knowledge and understanding of global child health and a willingness to work unsociable hours occasionally, would also be desirable.The RCPCH Global Intern is an exciting and unique role at the College as we are offering either part or full-time employment for up to 9 months across a range of initiatives, as well as the opportunity to take part in the College Learning and DevelopmentProgrammes.The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally,through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.The RCPCH has more than 22,000 members and fellows and employs around 200 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.The RCPCH wants to represent all the communities we serve. Appointment will be made solely on merit.
