Job Description

Salary range: £46,839 - £49,827 p.a. inc.Contract: PermanentHours of work: 36 hours per weekLocation: Civic Centre and other locations from time to timeHousing Property Services Brent Council brought back in-house its ALMO in 2017. Brent Housing has completeda thorough restructure of our Housing Property Services team. The new structure will deliver important, exciting, innovative and supportive services to our 13,000 residents.In addition to our routine repairs, housing property maintenance and compliance services,we have an ambitious programme of planned maintenance, major tower block refurbishment and climate change improvement works. We are developing our service operating model to deliver Building Safer Futures, Climate Change improvements, and other services thatmake a positive impact to the Borough and other residents. The service has evolved to focus on delivering the service residents want. We want to ensure people live in well maintained homes and estates and we are pre-pared to put in the required level of investmentto achieve this. We know cash alone wont deliver the changes our residents want to see, we need excellent people who have the right experience, knowledge and attitude to make the service work and thats where you come in.Our new build programme has and willcontinue to provide additional quality homes to be maintained to a high standard.Our Property Services team is looking for people to take on a number of key posts, to deliver a sector leading customer experience for Brent tenants and leaseholders.Brent Councilis a responsible employer and provides career development opportunities, employment support, competitive pay, and flexible working arrangements. The PostAn exciting opportunity to provide quantity surveying services and support for the Councils Housing majorworks refurbishment projects.The projects include major tower block refurbishment, climate change energy efficiency works, planned maintenance, fire safety and mechanical and electrical works.The candidate will demonstrate relevant quantity surveying experienceand skills in relation to procurement, project management, cost control, valuations, and contractual issues; in major works and planned maintenance.The PersonThe candidate is expected to be an experienced Housing property professional who has excelled in asimilar role.The candidate should possess good contract management and project management skills, work well with others, especially contractors, and have good procurement and technical construction knowledge.A focus on working to deadlines, preparing and agreeingdocumentation, negotiation, and cost management are essential.The candidate should be degree qualified and / or demonstrate suitable extensive experience.Closing Date: 01 July 2021 (23:00)Additional InformationBrent Council values the diversity of its communityand aims to have a workforce that reflects this and therefore encourage applications from all sections of the community.
