Job Description

Our client prides themselves on their in-house knowledge and technical expertise to deliver even the most challenging projects and strive to promote quality and excellence in the design and installation of all areas of the Passive Fire Protection and Acousticsector. The company has over 25 years’ experience of understanding and realising fire protection and acoustic requirements, and turn bespoke concepts into compliant engineered solutions delivered on time and within budget. They are now seeking a highly skilledquantity surveyor to join their London based team.Position Overview:As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success and cost-efficiency of projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and minimising expenses while maintaining the highestquality standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed cost estimations for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to establish accurate budgets and cost plans.
  • Monitor project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential cost overruns and recommending cost-saving measures.
  • Provide regular budget reports and updates to project teams and senior management.
  • Prepare and analyse quantity take-offs from project plans and specifications.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive measurement of resources required for each project.
  • Implement effective cost control measures to minimise wastage and optimise resource utilisation.
  • Review and approve project change orders, ensuring they align with the budget and client requirements.
  • Identify potential financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate and manage variations and claims that may impact project costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and project costs.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, including cost analysis and financial forecasts, for project stakeholders and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, contract requirements, and company policies.
Role Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in quantity take-off software and construction cost estimating tools.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
