Job Description

Job title: Quality Assurance Engineer Location: Barrow in Furness We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: £48,306 dependent of skills and experience What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing and taking responsibility for all quality related activities without daily supervision and having a clear understanding of and apply the Quality Management System documentation e.g. Policy, Process, Procedure, Work Instruction, applicable to yourparticular work scope
  • Working with customers and vendors to determine their requirements and expectations and to ensure that these are delivered satisfactorily, this includes communicating internationally between differing time zones and cultures
  • Developing, maintaining and managing key relationships in the business/vendor base and release at source of product from the international supply chain
  • Using your knowledge and experience to facilitate root cause analysis and recommendation of corrective action
  • Analysing data and identify trends, recommend and ensure that corrective actions are implemented and maintained
Your skills and experiences: Essential
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with manufacturing and casting processes. Including Titanium & Aluminium.
  • Extensive understanding of quality management systems, control, assurance and standards
  • Confident with the use of Document management and product life cycle management toolsets
  • Lead Auditor - Minimum ISO 9001 - 2015
  • HND / Degree level or demonstrate suitable experience
  • Willing to travel globally to India, Europe, USA, with potentially short notice

The Quality Assurance Function Team: We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness. You will play a key role on the Weapons Systems UK programmes, managing your own tasks and delivering results whilst anticipating potential problem areas. Assuringour customer outputs by analysing products and process non-conformances and carrying out root cause analysis where appropriate and recommend preventative actions. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on artillery system including M777 &105 Light Gun, to provide leadership in all aspects of quality related activities, ensuring both customer and business requirements are met, whilst working cross functionally and across continents. We currently have two positions available for this role. One will be base solely in the UK 4 days per week on site, the other will require extensive Global travel.
