Job Description

An exciting position has emerged at Life Academy International for a committed Christian who is a qualified International Baccalaureate science teacher with specialism in Physics and Chemistry. Whilst Life Academy International is based in the Philippines this opportunity is a virtual/ online teaching position with 19 hours of classroom teaching expected to grade 11 (10 students) and grade 12 (18 students). The current online platform for virtual learning is Managebac but sometimes Google classroom is utilised.All required costs for lesson preparation, hardware, boosted internet etc. will be covered by Life Academy International.It is expected that you will commit to a two-year contract.For more information on the amazing mission of Life Academy International take a look at its website POSITION DESCRIPTION: Virtual IB Teacher (Physics & Chemistry)Accountabilities:

  • Prepare syllabi, lesson plans and assessments that adhere to the articulated curriculum
  • Assess, record and report the development and progress of students
  • Check & record accurately and timely students’ scores in the Managebac
  • Conduct Parent-Teacher Conference
  • Provide guidance and advise to students
  • Maintain a healthy, respectful relationship with students and parents
  • Support supervisor/s and colleagues and observe the code for professional teachers
  • Participate in faculty and Professional Learning Community meetings
  • Ad hoc projects as required
    • Authority and Responsibility:
  • No supervisory responsibility
  • Reports directly to the Vice Principal -IBDP Coordinator
  • Accountable for student’s confidential records
  • Simple decisions are made and follow established policy or rules
    • Key Competencies:Experience/Qualifications
  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education or its equivalent
  • Preferably three - five year experience in teaching IB Physics and Chemistry
  • Professional Certification in Teaching or Equivalent
    • Knowledge and Skills
  • Must be knowledgeable in MS Office or Mac applications
  • Must be knowledgeable in different technology platform in delivering online classes
  • Must be knowledgeable on the current, relevant and Biblical pedagogical theories and practices
  • Must know the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers (See Appendix A)
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be creative, flexible and resourceful
  • Must have good listening skills

  • A devout Christian with strong working ethics that would perform the role with strong attention to details and able to work within tight weekly/monthly deadlines.
  • A team player with strong ability to effectively communicate issues and subsequent resolution with the Management Committee of Life Academy International.
