Job Description

Psychological TherapistWe have an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Therapist to join our Therapies team based at The London Clinic’s main hospital in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive salary range on offer. We have approx. 1300 employees across 8 sites, where we cover a broad range of specialisms, including complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services.Job ProfileAs a Psychological Therapist you will provide Counselling service across all sectors of Cancer care; providing psychological expertise to maximise outcomes and achieve optimal care delivery, through input to patients, their carers, staff and management as required

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts: We operate a mixed shift pattern

  • To offer an evidence-based approach to the psychological needs of Cancer patients at all points of their cancer pathway from diagnosis to survivorship.
  • To provide input to enable Cancer MDTs to offer a psychologically informed and compassionate approach to delivering optimal patient outcomes.
  • To consult to all members of the MDT to allow a holistic approach to physical care in terms of overall process and individual patient care.
  • To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of patients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
  • Skills &Experience
  • NMC Registered Nurse RN OR Allied Health Professional (e.g. radiographer, OT, physiotherapist, SALT, dietician) OR Medicine/ Paramedic professional qualification
  • PGDip training in counselling or psychotherapy
  • Accredited with BACP or other recognised counselling professional body
  • A minimum of 3 Years’ experience as a counsellor
