Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a conscientious RSE/PSHE Lead to join our multidisciplinary team in supporting and advising children and young who have speech, language and communication difficulties across the key stages with their relationship and sex education needs.The main responsibility of the role:To lead the curriculum based on the statutory government requirements: PSHE and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education.What the role involves: Leading the RSE/PSHE team. Teaching a full RSE/PSHE timetable. Individual mentoring on a referral needs-led basis. Group workshops. Developing the PSHE and RSE curriculum.The ideal candidate will have: Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning and mentoring. Experience in delivering RSE and / or PSHE within an educational setting and willingness and ability to develop essential skills in this area, including developing a curriculum. The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers. Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children on the Autism Spectrum. Confidence to lead a small team and to deliver training interventions to groups. Experience of and ability to manage individual or small groups of children/young adults with complex social communication needs and challenging behaviour.
