Job Description

As the Property Risk and Compliance Assurance Lead, you will act as the businesss risk manager, technical expert and competent advisor on statutory compliance matters associated with energy and building engineering services and the associated health, safety, environmental and business risks.Client DetailsMy client are a well known multinational organisation with a wide ranging property portfolio including offices, warehousing and vehicle housing.DescriptionThe key responsibilities as the Property Risk and Compliance Assurance Lead are:

  • To fulfil the role of competent person for relevant legislation associated with energy and Building Engineering Services
  • To support duties in relation to construction and CDM, providing strong leadership, clarity, advice, support and guidance to the Property Facilities team, and the wider business; including consultation with the local SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) teams and local operational teams as required
  • Provide SHE Subject Matter Expert (SME) coaching, advice and technical support to assist in their continuous improvement programme
  • Ensure compliance to Safety Health and Environmental legislation and management systems
  • Represent the Property aspect of the Safety Health Field (SHE) Team at Product Area based SHE Meetings
  • Providing SHE subject matter expertise to the Property and Facilities operations
  • Ensure an integrated, efficient but robust approach to statutory and regulatory compliance and risk reduction and across framework suppliers, contractors and consultants, ensuring the relevant risk profiles are understood, mitigated and managed, so far as is reasonably practicable
  • To make sure that there is business compliance to statutory requirements and to actively promote industry best practice and continuous improvement
  • To ensure that there is accurate and comprehensive awareness of construction, energy, risk management and compliance throughout the business, including the design and implementation of appropriate training and other forms of communication/instruction where required
  • To provide specialist CDM, construction, energy and compliance and risk management advice, guidance and support throughout the business providing strong leadership, clarity, advice, support and guidance
  • ProfileThe successful Property Risk and Compliance Assurance Lead will need the following:Degree level qualified in a relevant engineering qualification:
  • CMIOSH (or equivalent) or working towards
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent)
  • RMAPS preferable
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of SHE risks, statutory compliance, codes of practice
  • British Standards, Building Regulations, insurance requirements and associated industry standards/best practice
  • Training in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and 9001
  • Experience:
  • Related experience in a similar risk management or SHE discipline
  • Experience at managerial level
  • Experience of interfacing with senior management/ directors
  • Experience of interfacing with regulatory authorities and insurers
  • Proven leadership ability with clarity, focus and a collaborative working style
  • Able to influence at all levels of business
  • Effective communication, report writing and consultancy skills
  • Able to prioritise activities and work to a plan
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Experience with the development of policies or standards
