Job Description

Project Manager - Wealth ManagementSeeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager with strong experience in Wealth Management to build and launch advisory and discretionary services for Private Banking retail customers.This position requires a combination of change management experience (ie business analysis and project management frameworks) together with subject-matter expertise in wealth management services to overseas customers (including cross-border interaction),particularly previous experience in regulatory variation of permissions (VoP), investment advisory and discretionary management.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of the project in line with the Banks project management policy and framework, ensuring that appropriate governance, communications, change control and risk management are maintained. This will require experienceof the end-to-end project life cycle.
  • Work with the Sponsor to deliver key artefacts required across each phase of the project;
  • Deliver agreed scope/objectives within budget and to agreed timeframes;
  • Preparation of realistic and detailed Project Plans and the subsequent tracking of all activities to completion;
  • Monitoring actual spend versus budget, timescales and resources and take action where these deviate from any agreed tolerances;
  • Demonstrate effective governance of key project Issues and Risks and escalation as appropriate;
  • Ability to engage and influence key Stakeholders at all levels across the organisation;
  • Clear and concise reporting as required to forums of various seniority;
  • Management and co-ordination of resources (internally and externally) to meet Project Deliverables;
  • Ensuring that all key artefacts are delivered to a high standard as required.
  • Ability to work with other teams to ensure the project meets any control environment requirements such as Regulatory, Legal or Third Party.
  • Capture and document business rules, flows and the target operating model;
  • Ensure service level agreements are defined and agreed and ensure that appropriate control and oversight measures are in place prior to launch.
  • Prepare and complete documentation for the VoP and coordinate the end-to-end application with the regulators.
Skills & Abilities:Wealth Management (Investment Advisory and Discretionary Management):
  • Candidate must have previous experience of preparation and follow through to approval of a Variation of Permissions to the Regulators;
  • Candidate must have a clear understanding of Investment Advisory and Discretionary Management requirements in the UK;
  • Candidate must have clear understanding (and ability to help us develop a set) of documentation requirements to meet the Customer Risk Profile and Investment Suitability rules in the UK for Retail Customers;
  • Candidate must have knowledge and experience in working with external providers for Investment Management decision making, including what oversight is required in order to satisfy the UK Regulators;
  • Candidate must have a working knowledge of Cross Border Rules and ability to build a framework for advising retail clients from the MENA region (either in the UK or in their home countries, in person or via phone/e-mail etc)
Change Management (Project Management & Business Analysis):
  • Experience of project management concepts, methods and common frameworks;
  • Knowledge of typical project management artefacts;
  • Proven clear and concise written and communication skills;
  • Ability to build relationships with global teams and with a wide variety of stakeholders with the ability to adapt management and leadership styles to each situation;
  • See the bigger picture across the Transformation agenda and help identify areas and processes that may require improvement;
  • Ability to self-manage and work in a dynamic environment;
  • Proven track record of delivering positive and sustained change.
Experience and qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience within Financial Services/Banking on major Change and Transformation projects (Required)
  • Professional qualifications in Project Management (eg Prince2, PMP) and Business Analysis (eg BCS) (Desirable)
