Project Manager, New London Architecture/London Festival of ArchitectureSalary: £28,000 - £32,000Contract: Permanent, Full Time.New London Architecture (NLA) is Londons leading independent centre for debate, discussion and information about the futureshape of the capital. Our busy year-round programme of events, exhibitions, publications and research addresses the key issues affecting the citys built environment and drives the debate about its future. Our fast-growing membership of over 500 organisations spans both the public and private sector,including architects and designers, developers, engineers, planners, agents, public sector bodies and product manufacturers.The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) is the worlds largest annual architecture festival and is managed by New London Architecture.Togetherthe LFA and NLA team have over 15 years experience of running the competitive selection of design teams as well as managing the delivery of a wide range of project types, from small-scale public realm interventions to new public buildings. Our Design Competitions,Charettes and bespoke commissions help clients to solve urban problems and test ideas by engaging expert and emerging talent from both our 25,000 strong cross-sector networks, and beyond. We create important opportunities for emerging architects and designersand bring together broad groups of stakeholders, including professionals, local government representatives, local communities and the wider public. Joining our team offers the opportunity to work with and on behalf of a wide range of organisations - includingleading cultural organisations, local authorities, business improvement districts and private organisations - on a series of high-profile projects and programmes in a creative and collaborative environment.Main responsibilities We are looking for a highlymotivated Programme/Project Manager with a proven record of managing build projects to join the team and take responsibility for the overall management and delivery of our design competitions and commissions. The role will mainly be focused on delivering projectsfor London Festival of Architecture and delivering programmes for NLA but will also require working on the wider NLA initiatives and NLA Collaborate projects in off-peak periods. The Project Manager will work closely with the Director, London Festival of Architectureto establish new projects and oversee them from inception to delivery and will work with the NLA Head of Programming to deliver specific programmes around relevant topics across the year. The role has a key position in the team and will require working withmultiple key stakeholders, delivery partners and the wider NLA team.Reports to: Director, London Festival of ArchitectureMain duties and responsibilities London Festival of Architecture Collaborate with clients to produce project briefs for design competitionsand commissions. Manage submission and selection processes according to LFA/NLA competition standards. This might include administration of entries, coordination of judging panels and keeping entrants informed of their progress and results. Manage the relationshipwith shortlisted and appointed teams. Work with comms team on communications plan for each project. Work with design teams and client on design development, fabrication and install/deinstall of projects, including preparation of all appropriate council permissionsand highways consents. Work with clients on wider engagement for projects. This might include organising guided site tours for shortlisted practices and local stakeholders, community consultation events or temporary exhibitions. Support Director, LFA to bringin new business. Work with other Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of the London Festival of Architecture. Develop and maintain relationships at all levels internally and externally. Manage project budgets. Work with wider New London Architectureteam on other projects such as design charrettes and co-design workshop.NLA Programme Planning and delivery of specific programmes including speaker liaison and management, briefing, copy writing and post-event follow-up Working with the Communications teamto ensure website, mailers and social are all up-to-date for events and that events are promoted in a timely manner Working with the Client Relationship team to ensure the needs of programme sponsors are met. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:A graduate or postgraduate qualification in Architecture or a related field. Proven ability to manage delivery of build projects. Proven ability to conceptualise and deliver progamming Good knowledge of the industry, design and construction processes. Theability to work on fast pace projects and to proactively manage opportunities and risks Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. The ability to prioritise effectively, managing a busy diary and varied workload to meet demands and deadlines.
