Do you want to learn about the changing landscape in the NHS Are you excited to learn about how the NHS delivers its services and how through understanding variation in cost we can improve patient pathways Do you want to be part of the revolution in how the NHS costs services If the answer to these questions is yes, then we would love to hear from you.Costing in the NHS is going through a colossal transformation. Historically, the NHS costed services based on averages but now, the costing transformation team are leading the revolution to cost the actual care individual patients receive. This requires the use of Patient-Level Information and Costing Systems (PLICS) in trusts to amalgamate activity information with financial information in one place. In doing this, we can help improve value in patient pathways which is a high priority for NHS England and NHS Improvement. This value equation supports delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. The costing transformation programme is supporting NHS provider organisations finance departments to implement patient level costing in their organisations. This post will have the opportunity to understand all secondary care sectors (acute, ambulance, community and mental health) and to work with a range of professional staff within those settings. We are developing systems which can link patient-level costs to outcomes to promote value for patients through benchmarking and partnership. You will be developed to provide programme business support to the team and to successfully monitor the progress of the programme. You will be required to help with the development of the policy documents, ensuring a standardised and consistent approach across the portfolio as well as provide the administration support to a range of meetings. You must be organised and methodical with a positive, can do attitude and someone who is comfortable with engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders. You do not have to have a financial background to succeed in this role.In return, you will be joining a team who is passionate, supportive and enjoy working together closely despite being in different locations. We have developed a culture of continuous learning and constant improvement to deliver the single biggest data collection in the NHS.This is an exciting opportunity to support our costing transformation programme manager in project management as they manage the overall programme. In addition, there will be opportunity to support special projects within the costing portfolio. To start with the post will support the administration of the new quarterly Exceptional Cost Collection (EQC).For further details / informal visits contact:Name: Faraz AhmadJob title: Programme Senior ManagerEmail address:
