The WEA is an educational charity delivering responsive, relevant and accessible programmes of learning across England and Scotland. Through our vision of employability, health and wellbeing, community engagement and cultural studies, we raise the educationalaspirations of local communities.WEA has an exciting opportunity for a Project Education Coordinator to oversee successful delivery and meet the requirements of a delivery contract with Papworth Trust, the lead organisation of the Building Better Opportunities(BBO) Community Connections South Project.The project is funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.The role will be home based with travel and face to face support for participants across South Cambridgeshire, notably Willinghamand Northstowe.This role is for 17.5 hours per week and the salary is £26,620 (pro rata). The proposed end date for the fixed term contract is 31/03/2023.You will be responsible for running the BBO project plan including recruiting and supporting unwaged orunemployed participants, through mentoring, IAG and coordinating specialist tutors to ensure that each participant receives appropriate support in order for them to progress into work or closer to the labour market.The post holder will also be required tomanage day to day project management, including oversight of the work of the project coordinators working on the project to ensure completion of all evidence requirements, quality assurance and evidence of outcomes.It is anticipated that the post holder willwork closely with a range of stakeholders which are likely to include; lead partner organisation for the project, Local Authority staff, community organisations, service providers (e.g. GPs, DWP, JCP) employers, WEA volunteers and staff. You will be expectedto represent the WEA and promote both the Association and the value of adult education in relevant contexts.Empowering people from all walks of life is what we are all about, so we are keen to hear from people in disadvantaged or under-represented groups.Whatever your background, you will need experience of outreach work, engaging and recruiting individuals who are not currently in work and are likely to lack confidence and skills.The successful candidate is likely to have experience delivering one-to-onesupport and can either deliver small group teaching especially around skills development, confidence building etc and/or manage sessional tutors to do this.Project management experience is a clear advantage and excellent administrative skills are essential.You will be comfortable using digital technology Zoom/Teams to support the participants in addition to face to face activity.The role will be home based with travel and face to face support for participants across South Cambridgeshire, notably Willingham andNorthstowe.To apply for this post please attach an up to date CV and Supporting Statement/Cover letter stating how you meet the essential criteria detailed in the Person Specification prior to the closing date.
