Job Description

All About UsCurrie & Brown is currently looking for a project/design manager to provide project management and technical advisor support on the work on the Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) project.Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Providing project management, design management and technical advisor support including subject matter expertise to the project team to ensure an integrated, sustainable and effective solution is developed which meets the requirements defined within the brief and benefits defined in the business case
  • Establishing a strong working relationship with key stakeholders and ensuring that all user requirements are captured and design approvals are in place to meet schedule dates, as well as understanding regulatory requirements
  • Providing end-to-end project execution and management, ensuring clear goals, roles and deliverables are well defined and achieved
  • Undertaking responsibility for the safety of everyone involved or touched by the project
  • Supporting the project on the cGMP design review
  • Ensuring the integration of design, development, construction delivery, commissioning and process requirements are achieved using the subject matter experts in the team (including your own expertise as appropriate)
  • Acting as contract administrator using the NEC ECC building contract
  • Chairing, leading and accurately recording project pre-start, progress and handover meetings
  • Managing the change control process using a pre-agreed client process
  • Managing the project through to handover and completion
  • Being accountable for reporting of project cost, programme, health and safety and performance using project controls and reporting tools
  • Providing support and assistance to the project team on commissioning, validation and qualification (CVQ) activities
  • Ensuring that the project deliverables are achieved and able to be tested, commissioned and handed into operation in accordance with client requirements
  • Ensuring post-project reviews are completed and any learning/benefits realisation is captured appropriately
  • All About The RoleRequirements:
  • Degree in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent academic achievement
  • Professional qualifications (membership of an appropriate institution) including incorporated or chartered status with a relevant engineering professional body MIChemE, MCIBSE, MIMechE or MICE and/or MRICS, ChPP or MAPM qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working with pharmaceutical and life science clients and/or government organisations
  • Experience of working in cGMP, vaccine manufacturing, cleanrooms and/or high containment facilities and environments (SAPO/ACDP)
  • Experience of NEC and/or IChemE contract administration using strong commercial and contractual management desirable
  • Experience in a wide range of capital/revenue projects with a clear understanding of project management processes, tools and procedures particularly the Association for Project Management (APM)
  • Proven track record in planning, implementation and delivery of complex pharmaceutical manufacturing projects with multiple stakeholder interfaces
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, polite, patient, diplomatic, respectful and flexible
