We are seeking to appoint a Programmes Manager on a full time, permanent basis with experience of providing front line support to students and managing and organising course delivery. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in establishing ourtaught programmes at the Shard and ensuring an excellent service experience for students.Client DetailsA large University, with a London campusDescriptionJob PurposeTo work closely with the programmes Associate Dean and to lead an administrative support team to plan, organise and manage the effective delivery of courses in the programme group, ensuring a consistently high-quality service to all stakeholders.Duties and Responsibilities* Responsible for all operational aspects of the effective delivery of the groups programmes to the standards defined by Operations Director in line with the relevant Associate Deans vision, Schools strategy and defined management processes.* Responsible for the operational delivery of a high quality and consistent customer experience throughout the student life cycle (from pre-enrolment to graduation) for all students and programmes within the group, in liaison with the Operations Director (MastersProgrammes).* Responsible for all aspects of students administration including managing the maintenance of accurate student records, in accordance with School and University data protocols and monitoring student progression.* Responsible for organising and coordinating external services associated with programme delivery (e.g. external speakers, booking accommodation).* Manage the delivery of programme events ( e.g. induction events) and supporting and participating in other events as required (e.g. WBS Forum, graduation, student recruitment events).* Manage and administer the project and dissertation process, which includes ensuring the availability of sufficient, appropriate projects, supporting students on non-academic issues, administering the assessment process, making accurate and timely paymentsto supervisors as required.* Responsible for all operations that support international student exchanges for both incoming and outgoing students, including liaison with partner schools (N.B. only applicable to certain programme groups).* Lead, manage, motivate and engage the team taking full responsibility for line management i.e. recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, sickness absence management and appraisals.* Monitor and report statutory and corporate data to standards defined by the Programmes Quality Manager (e.g. attendance monitory for reporting to the UKBA, ensuring module registration and completion data for reporting HESA, meeting external accreditationrequirements).ProfileA good undergraduate honours degree or equivalentSignificant general management experience at an operational level, which may have been gained within a HE environmentExperience in team leadership and management, including recruitment, induction, training, performance managementExcellent oral and written communication and demonstrable effective negotiating and influencing skillsAbility to use own initiative and to work quickly and accurately under pressure exercising judgement and assessment of riskStrong customer service backgroundExperience of operating and controlling budgetsExperience of using management information systemsAbility to undertake required out-of-hours working including regular visits to off-campus teaching venues including occasional overnight staysExperience of change managementMBA or equivalent post graduate or post experience management qualificationJob OfferPermanent position
