Job Description

Programme Administrator - £15.32ph plus Hol Pay - Central LondonStart ASAP for three months initiallyWe are recruiting for an experienced Programme Administrator to join one of London’s leading Universities. If you have previous experience gained within a Higher Education institute, we’d love to hear from you!THE ROLEThe role involves significant contact and communication with students, staff and partner institutions and a polite, helpful and responsive approach is essential. The postholder will be proactive, flexible and solutions-driven, being able to work both independently and as part of a team.The postholder will provide support to the School’s Professional Programmes. The main areas of the role are to provide administrative support in the following areas:

  • Admissions, enrolment and induction
  • Support to students and staff in relation to academic programmes
  • Assessment and examinations
  • Shool committees
  • Support for School registers
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Marking up attendance for School wide register checks for engagement monitoring, ensuring all registers required are collected. Flagging any issues with attendance.
  • Creation of exam period timetables.
  • Setting up Zoom meetings for assessments.
  • Communicating with students in relation to the programme and assessments.
  • Communicating with internal staff and external staff (NHS) whom supports the professional programmes.
  • Support the recruitment of assessors for assessments.
  • Setting up online assessment platforms on Moodle.
  • Preparation of paperwork for assessments.
  • Support on the day for assessments.
  • Collating and entering marks and updating records of in-house training.
  • Arrangements for external examining marking.
  • Support the admissions and application process for the professional programmes.
  • Ensure records are kept up to date.
  • The post holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.
  • PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Administrative work in a busy office environment.
  • Administration in higher/further education or a teaching and learning environment.
  • Experience of Course/Programme administration.
  • Computer literate, including Word, Excel, Outlook, email and internet.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills (including accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation).
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of people, including the ability to relate to staff and students in a teaching and learning context.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with high volumes of processing.
  • Ability to work accurately and with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet time-critical schedules.
  • Knowledge of the complete academic cycle of the UCAS admissions process. (For Undergraduate admissions administrator.
  • Knowledge of entrance requirements and/or familiarity with UK/Overseas qualifications.
