The Product Manager function within CME Group Inc, Global Operations works closely with the software engineering team, BLM and compliance to outline and scope the book of work for Regulatory Reporting development. In practical terms product own the roadmap, the backlog and the prioritization of work into software engineering. The product manager should work closely with all areas of the business to ensure iterative, timely, transparent and relevant releases. Due to the bespoke regulatory nature of the services there is a considerable interaction with compliance and an expectation of horizon scanning of regulatory text and developments. Financial literacy and experience of MiFID II transaction and transparency reporting is essential. The product manager should have a high level of technical competency and experience with database querying and large-scale solution design. Key Accountabilities:

  • Gathering requirements from Cash Markets and Optimization Service ("CMOS") businesses, operations, regulators & internal compliance
  • Work with IT business analysts and Trading Solution teams in creating user stories, wireframes and acceptance criteria
  • Prioritizing backlog and reporting productivity back to stakeholders in conjunction with the CME Planning and Execution ("P&E") team
  • Refining the Regulatory Reporting product backlog
  • Liaising closely with software engineering, operations, and BLM
  • Driving solutions forward with software engineering
  • Working with Compliance and BLM on request from Regulators relating to Regulatory Reporting
  • Assist in any Regulatory Reporting projects driven by the group, including product design and oversight of material preparation, design of process and monitoring of implementation
  • Ensure CMOS, the Head of Product and compliance are updated on all important Regulatory Reporting matters, maintaining dialogue and alerting them to issues facing the various business functions, as well as proposing appropriate responses, as appropriate.
  • Competencies
  • Release planning and prioritization
  • Creating and sizing user Epics and Stories and planning into sprints
  • Writing of Acceptance criteria, requirement gathering
  • Experience and competence with relational databases, data management, troubleshooting, monitoring and administration
  • Understanding of platform architectures and large-scale solution design
  • Understanding and experience of transport messaging protocols (FIX, Kafka, Message Queues)
  • Financial literacy and strong working knowledge and experience of European regulation (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR), Regulatory Reporting and impact on trading venues
  • Strong understanding of European politics which may impact Regulatory Reporting and venues (e.g. Brexit)
  • Experience of attending and managing meetings at senior management level demonstrating ability to put forward arguments, debate and influence accordingly
  • Ability and comfort with interacting and communicating, in written and oral form, with senior managers throughout the organization.
  • Ability to understand complex business problems Plan and manage change and find appropriate workarounds with key stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset and can-do attitude
  • Solid experience of business/strategy/ project management
