Job Description

About Climate Policy RadarClimate Policy Radar is on a mission to organise, analyse, and democratise the world’s climate law and policy data. We build open databases and research tools so people can discover, understand, and generate data-driven insights on public laws and policies.Our work helps governments, researchers, international organisations, civil society, and the private sector to understand and advance effective climate policies and deploy climate finance.Harnessing data science and AI and pioneering the application of natural language processing to this domain, our work unlocks previously inaccessible, unstructured data.We are deeply embedded in the global climate and AI communities, and count some of themost important organisations and global climate leaders amongst our users, advocates, friends and advisors.We are seeking a Product Manager who will be instrumental in this journey, supporting high scale, high impact cross-functional teams building tools to help move the needle on climate change. We are a start-up, and this is a hands-on product manager role, soyou must be comfortable wearing multiple hats and juggling multiple responsibilities.What you’ll be doingAs Product Manager, you will be the expert voice for our users, business, data, and industry. You will work with our cross-functional teams to ensure we solve the right problems and build the right things at the right time. You will take products and featuresfrom discovery and ideation, through design, delivery, and preparation for launch, to measuring of success, and through subsequent iterations.Some of the things that you will be doing: owning the custom CMS that our internal policy team and partner organisations use to create and update content in our tools; coordinating cross-functional work involving policy analysts and data scientists for sourcingand structuring new datasets; leading user and market research across our entire portfolio. Our ideal candidate has a broad set of skills and experiences and interests so they would be happy working on any of our products or product areas, as opportunitiesfor new areas of ownership arise.

  • Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your product area(s), ensuring alignment with wider product and organisational goals.
  • Work to identify product opportunities together with our users and stakeholders, including research institutions, international organisations, industry, legal professionals, and more, as well as with our internal cross-functional teams.
  • Lead product discovery, conducting user research, market research, and data analysis to understand which problems to solve and how.
  • Collaborate with your team to rapidly test hypotheses to determine the right thing to build for our users – supported by data and evidence – while managing cost and delivery timelines with a lean start-up mentality.
  • Define measures of success for your product(s), and monitor and measure these metrics at a product and feature level.
  • Collaboratively maintain and prioritise the product backlog. Break down work into smaller value chunks and release value early and often, while maintaining product documentation to a high standard.
  • Help the team plan iterations, releases, and dependency management, ensuring stakeholders are kept up to date.
What experience you’ll need
  • Previous experience as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager in software or technology, preferably targeting professional audiences.
  • Track record of defining and launching successful products, with experience in dual-track discovery/delivery.
  • Proficiency in conducting user research, data analysis, and team coordination.
  • Passion for research and data-driven decision-making, ideally within legal, policy, or academic domains.
  • Strong understanding of product success metrics and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive consensus and compromise when necessary.
  • A keen eye for product design and a commitment to best practices in product management.
  • Interest in climate law and policy, coupled with a desire to contribute to the global climate response.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
