Job Description

Product Manager (Merchant) open to residence of the United Kingdom £45 000.00 to £49 000.00pa + BUPA and PensionThere are jobs and there are places where you get to do your best work. You are probably one of us.This role will play a key part in fulfilling our overall product strategy and business objectives with a specific focus on the development and execution of merchant features and products to become best in class platform that merchants love and adds value intheir day-to-day and wider ecosystem. We are on a mission to solve customer problems, introduce robust and stable self-serve payment features and functionalities, deliver valuable products for both our merchants and end-users and we need an individual with a passion for product and people to ensurewe get there. The right candidate is a highly creative problem solver, who is both insights and research-driven, and has a good grasp on how to build a global product that moves money around.Key ResponsibilitiesWho you are:

Your role will require you to:
  • You will be responsible for the overall merchant journey from registration, activation to retention. Optimising, mapping, documenting and implementing all merchant onboarding flows to ensure scalability and growth.
  • Development and execution of merchant products and strategies that meet client needs and company vision from our point of sale to mobile/web portals and integrations that enables our platform as the go to provider that merchants love.
  • When required, your role will require you to research any rules and regulations that apply to country specific payment regulations that need to be considered before implementing any merchant on-boarding initiative or product strategy.
  • Constantly enhancing processes for better services in handling new merchant on-boarding, merchant transactions, and support to help merchants become active and create stickiness.
  • Gathering requirements from merchants, understanding challenges, doing market research, identifying new trends, evaluating major competitors, investigating and formulating business propositions or opportunities for new and existing products or featuresthat keeps us relevant to our merchants and competitive.
  • Understanding merchant business portfolio and deriving insights through regular review and analysing of reports and monitoring of product performance.
  • Working with the risk & compliance team ensuring action plans are implemented in reducing overall risk related to fraud and chargebacks.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team during product development and 3rd party suppliers when required. work with payment partners and third party service providers to review payment hardware capabilities, integration speciations and certification.
  • Design and set criteria for the merchant portal pricing strategy, product offering model and relevant merchant approval program.
Manage backlog
  • Develops t-shirt sizing of product backlog items in collaboration with team leads.
  • Prioritise delivery of highest value features while minimising development effort.
  • Prioritises defect or bug resolution based on organisational objectives.
  • Ensures user stories meet the Definition of Ready for development to start.
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate number of ready tasks.
  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress and bottlenecks at each stage.
  • Gathers, manages, prioritises and communicates the product backlog.
  • Advocates on behalf of the customer for the development team.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams during design, build, test and launch.
Iteration Planning
  • Ensures close collaboration with the development team.
  • Play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting team performance.
  • Pro-active communication to reduce the risk of late found defects.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge or specific domain expertise when needed.
  • Clearly and confidently communicate via product deep dives
  • Define customer needs and the associated features to meet those needs. Take a What problem are we trying to solve philosophy/approach.
  • Support and answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
  • Diverse thinking and fresh ideas. Thinking big or even a little bigger than that.
  • Collaborating with prospective customers and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Participating in product, marketing and ops meetings to ensure alignment.
  • Analysing product usage data to bring the best experience to our customers.
Skills/Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in the FinTech space, ideally in Acquiring.
  • 3+ years of product management experience, having managed one entire product development cycle from concept to launch in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
