Job Description

In so doing, they seek to make a positive, sustainable contribution to both the UK economy and society.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Procurement Manager (Consultancy & Hr Buyer) for an Initial 6 Month contract based in London.Purpose of the Role:The Buyer will be responsible for contributing to the optimisation of UK cost base by delivering savings while respecting sustainable development for targeted areas.The buyer takes a leading role in engaging stakeholders with regards to the Procurement process and guiding them on best practice and running competitive vendor selection processes, negotiation of supplier contracts whilst ensuring business needs are met.As a Procurement Manager (Consultancy & HR Buyer) you will be responsible for:

  • Manage the early engagement with stakeholders with expert guidance and advice to drive effective Demand Management, and ensure that business requirements are understood, managed, and fulfilled.
  • Ensure that professional services spending is compliant and channelled towards preferred suppliers / framework agreements, and drive rationalisation of tail and non-compliant spend to maximise the benefits achievable from good practice in Supplier Management,contractualisation and Procurement process.
  • Be aware of and support supplier compliance with corporate policies including IT, Compliance, and Third-Party Risk Management.
  • Commercially managing sourcing activity (RFIs/RFPs/RFQs) for projects ensuring agreed business objectives and quality standards are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Gathering and analysing data and information on spend, supply markets, supplier costs, and performance to assess these for opportunities.
  • Supporting the implementation of agreed sourcing strategies and monitoring progress.
  • Identifying, recommending, negotiating, and implementing contractual changes as required in order to ensure costs and services evolve to match changing business needs and priorities.
  • Working closely with the Legal team and/or external counsel to understand and manage legal risks associated with supplier contracts, and ensuring that appropriate contracting methods and contractual relationships with suppliers are employed for all spendacross Professional Services projects.
  • Contributing to the development and promotion of Procurement models, standards and policies covering procedures, documentation, governance, vendor risk management to drive consistency and good practice.
What we require from the candidate:
  • Procurement experience ideally within a global Procurement function
  • Broad understanding of the Professional Services market (Consulting, HR and Professional services), including awareness of the key players and professional services trends.
  • Experience of working in Finance or other highly regulated environments, including good awareness of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) processes and awareness of UK financial regulations.
  • Experience and knowledge of managed services and working understanding of outsourcing.
  • Strong experience of contract management including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and approving business wide MSAs and Statements of Work (SoWs).
  • Ability to build relationships and influence key and senior stakeholders, and to act as a subject matter expert on Professional Services procurement up to and including executive level.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing best practices to ensure appropriate channel management.
  • Ability to apply risk management to all aspects of category management
  • Has used Procurement tools including, Ariba, Ivalua and VeriFile (advantageous)
