Job Description

A leading Financial Services Giant based in London has a need for an experienced Procurement Consultant / Category Manager to join them for an initial 3 month contract. The required profile will be highly accomplished within category management, in particular contingent labour workforce / professional services.Our client prides itself of providing innovative Investment Management serving the worlds most sophisticated clients, from sovereign wealth funds and the wealthiest individuals and families, to the most successful hedge funds and corporate brands.Location: London but working remotely at the present timeDuration: 3 months initiallyRate: Very competitive UMBRELLA day rate availableProcurement Consultant - Contingent Labour Category and Professional Services We are looking for an experienced Procurement Consultant to provide end-to-end category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement of contingent labour and outsourced/technology services on a global scale under general supervision (but will work independently most of the time). The Procurement Consultant will work on a global team, with colleagues in the UK, APAC, and the US, supporting a $350M category of spend.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • C.I.P.S (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply) desired
  • 5+ years of relevant procurement category management experience (emphasis on contingent labor/professional services preferred, i.e (strong grasp of the difference between SOW, PAYE etc)
  • Previous experience with vendor management system (VMS) such as Beeline/Fieldglass etc, and working with a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
  • IR35 knowledge, expert knowledge not needed but someone with a basic knowledge preferred
  • Understanding of procurement best practices
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements
  • Experience with Labour Contracts, managed services contracts
  • Past experience presenting to executive and senior leadership
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement applications, PeopleSoft ERP, MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills
    • Responsibilities
  • Contingent labour category management
  • Collaborate with technology partners to develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies
  • Analyse industry and vendor data / trends and make recommendations to technology partners about key insights, trade-offs, and risks
  • Collect requirements and specifications from technology partners and lead competitive bidding processes (e.g. RFx, eAuctions, etc.)
  • Negotiate commercial arrangements and contracts with vendors
  • Present negotiation strategies and opportunities to technology partners and management
  • Assist with forecasting / planning processes, demand management, and developing contracts that scale future enterprise needs
  • Provide thought-leadership around improvements of global policies, operations, programs and processes
  • Drive vendor quality and performance improvement initiatives and harness vendor innovation ideas
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert
  • Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impacts
  • Knowledge of UK regulations and English employment law, including IR35
