Job Description

About Procurement:The Procurement team is made up of 15 people looking to expand to about 20 in the next 6 months to a year. Its a sociable and fun team. The culture of the business is very relaxed and creative and its a non-corporate dress code. They are also very supportive of one another. Procurement has a good reputation as a function with some strong buy-in, but in someareas, still winning the hearts and minds of stakeholders and demonstrating the value procurement can add. As a result, a great opportunity to drive change. This global function has the greatest range of contracts out of all of Procurement and the best track record of promoting people. It has the widest number of stakeholders. Spend under contract right now is almost £100m and growing.General Responsibilities:

  • Running RFPs for new and existing spend; lead negotiations with suppliers
  • Look at cost savings AND value, for example, what risk can you identify in the contract, review and pick out key concerns in contracts and statements of work therefore creating less work for the Legal team
  • Look at high risk contracts, which might be low in value, but are sensitive around GDPR or intellectual property ownership, etc.
  • Putting supplier frameworks in place
  • Creating stakeholder relationships - blend of "brownfield" i.e. they have some idea about Procurement but dont use Procurement all the time because they have ad-hoc requirements. Some are existing relationships.
Key Skills:
  • End to end strategic sourcing experience - ideally led on this but if not then a strong understanding of the process
  • Any experience in buying indirects and specifically services is useful, but not essential
  • Able to demonstrate how youd approach an RFP, negotiation and contract (some understanding of contract milestones, payment conditions, liabilities, etc.)
  • Self-starter -knows when to escalate but when to make decisions too
  • Curious mind-set
  • Able to establish relationships
  • Ambitious to grow and develop as a Procurement professional
What is in it for you
  • Hybrid working
  • Strong development and progression opportunities
  • Opportunity to lead on complex procurement projects
  • A sociable, supportive and fun working environment
