Were passionate about providing world-class tap water, now and for the future.About the role:We are currently recruiting for a Process Control Technician to be based at our Coppermills Advanced Water Treatment Works. The successful candidate will support the process controller in ensuring the overall operation of the site to treat fresh water abstractedfrom the River Lee and produce wholesome water fit for distribution into the London water network.You will work as part of a shift team of eighteen and perform a range of assigned operational duties including site operation, water quality sampling and testing, routine process checks including health and safety checks, front line maintenance and problem-solvingto name a few, ensure that services are delivered to time, cost, and quality standards.What you will be doing

  • As the process control technician, you will be assisting the process controller team to ensure the water production plants operation 24/7, 365 days a year, while working alongside and assisting the maintenance team, management team and other operationalroles to ensure site-wide key performance indicators are met.
  • You will be responsible for the operation of the sites processes, front line maintenance and process fault-finding while reporting any defective equipment, ensuring a swift resolution following any breakdowns, monitoring, collating and reporting data toensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met and the works meet regulatory quality standards and customer demand.
  • Additionally, you will be required to undertake safety and security checks and take ownership of your own, and your colleagues, health and safety by escalating any concerns to your manager and resolving them yourself where possible.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
  • You will have a minimum of GCSE level maths and English or equivalent
  • Completion of NVQ level 2 units or equivalent, a technical City and Guilds or HNC qualification is also desirable.
  • You must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures including working in confined spaces, chemical treatment breathing apparatus, first aid, fire marshalling and receiving chemical deliveries.
  • Be computer literate, specifically with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in a relevant industry and with experience of helping to manage or control the appropriate processes is desirable
  • Previous experience of SCADA systems would be advantageous.
  • Possess a valid driving licence
