A local government council based in North London is in need of a Principle Transport Planner to step in during maternity leave on an initially temporary basis for 3 monthsRole: Principle Transport PlannerDuration: 3 MonthsRate: 24.13 per hour PAYELocation: Hackney/Remote WorkingInside IR35Job Essence and Justification:The person who is currently in the post will be going on Maternity leave therefore we need a principal officer to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate would have a qualification in Transport Planning or equivalent and have knowledge of legislative, policy and procedural frameworks within the Transportation Service Team.You must have a good all-round knowledge of the UK planning system and the workings of local government. You will have experience in the following; Preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plan Reports, Transport scheme design and appraisal with knowledge of relevant policy, guidance and advice including DMRB and MfS. You should be able to analyse data then collate and interpret it. Experience of transport modelling software packages such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, and TRICS is essential, as well as AutoCAD and AutoTrack. Knowledgeof the principles of strategic transport modelling, or prior experience of using SATURN and VISUM software would be desirable.
