Job Description

Biotech, T-cell, biology, science, scientist, research, drug, protein, cell, GMP, Process development, job The Company My client is an upcoming and rapidly expanding London based Biotech with secure funding and ongoing collaborations with a number of top tier global partners who are looking to develop the latest generation of advanced CAR-T cell-based therapeutics. They have a strong preclinical pipeline as well as key products they are looking to move forward to early stage clinical trials. The Role They are looking for an experienced candidate to lead the design and implementation of lab-based experimental strategies to support the development and manufacture-readiness of a complex T cell therapy pipeline. This role will involve project leadership and line management responsibility, leading a team of 4-5 scientists. Occasional to CMOs and/or development partners is likely to be required, this will likely be to both the US and EU. The role will also include opportunities to be part of Project teams responsible for building non-clinical and CMC strategies to support regulatory submissions for Phase I clinical trials in T cell Therapy. The Candidate

  • MSc or PhD level in a relevant scientific area, with several years of industry experience, preferably in Biotech.
  • Extensive expertise relating to the development, scale-up and tech transfer of bioprocesses destined for GMP manufacture, preferably in cell therapy
  • Experience using Quality-by-design/risk-based approaches for process development and scale-up, including understanding of critical process parameters (CPPs), critical quality attributes (CQAs) and risk assessment.
  • Experience with statistical experimental design (such as DoE) would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience with creation and review of project reports, tech transfer documents and batch records.
  • Line management/leadership experience in a biotech/industry setting and experience working in a project-led environment.
