Job title: Principal Operations Engineer Location: Barrow You will be working the 3 on 4 off Shift pattern arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: c.£38,000+ depending on experience What you’ll be doing: As the Principal Operations Engineer, you will be working directly for the Standards Compliance Team (Nuclear) within the Nuclear Authorisation and Compliance Function, of the Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate working on both the Astute & Dreadnoughtprogrammes. You will be proactive, approachable, and conscientious and be a team player, you will have an open mind and be prepared to challenge and be challenged, you are self-motivated and have a can-do attitude being ready to go beyond the role and responsibilities. Your main responsibilities would include the following: • Being a trusted and valued member of the team and being a point of contact for all NSRP related issues • Advising and supporting the operations team in delivering to quality and safety standards and right first time • Ensuring relevant standards and processes are adhered to and complied with on a day-to-day basis • Interfacing with a broad spectrum of personnel across all levels both within and out with the business Your skills and experiences: Essential • 5 years minimum NSRP build and installation knowledge and experience across Operations /Quality or Engineering Background - (Mechanical) • Understanding of Audits and Investigations • I.T literate especially with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal). Desirable • Nuclear Reactor Systems Course Level 1 and 2. The Operation-Nuclear team: You will be working directly for the Standards Compliance Team (Nuclear) within the Nuclear Safety and security function of the Nuclear Integration Directorate working on both the Astute & Dreadnought programmes.
