Job Description

Principal AWS DevOps Engineer Tasks

  • You will have the opportunity to drive adoption of AWS best practice both with clients and internally
  • You will work as part of a team to automate the provisioning of secure AWS environments and modernise application workloads
  • You will assist with estimating work effort and story pointing required for each phase of agile projects
  • Youll be pivotal in developing the talents of more junior members of the engineering team
  • Youll have the opportunity to be seen as a leader in the AWS and DevOps community by contributing to GitHub, writing blogs or speaking at meet-ups
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance

Qualification
  • University Degree educated
  • Several years experience developing and implementing AWS solutions
  • Experience implementing AWS security patterns and configuration
  • Mentoring and coaching experience across different skill levels
  • Hands on CI/CD implementation experience in one or more tool e.g. Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, etc
  • Infrastructure as a code experience - CloudFormation, Terraform, etc
  • Familiar with the approaches and tooling for automated software Quality Assurance
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Lean Software delivery methodologies
