Job Description

KS1 Teaching AssistantSouthwarkASAP StartTimePlan Education is currently supporting several primary schools in Southwark recruiting Early Years and KS1 Teaching Assistants to supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis. Ideally candidates need to be available a minimum of 3 days per week and needto be flexible on the days available. Working hours will be 8.20am - 4pm.The primary schools are in the heart of the borough. They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop students independence in a fun and nurturing way.Shortlisted candidates must have proven experience in the UK. A strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework is essential. Ideally you will have experience within a school setting, however they are also open to candidates who have worked in a private nurseryor childrens centre. Students have various needs including ASD and SEMH, therefore a strong understanding of SEND is required. Classes are mixed ability; therefore, it is imperative you are confident taking part in all activities and lessons.Attributes that work well include being creative, energetic, and personable.These high achieving schools are keen to employ staff who are dedicated, dynamic and have a real passion for education. In return they can offer a happy and friendly working environment.Key Skills:

  • Experience within a UK school - Early Years/KS1 setting.
  • Working knowledge of ASD, SEMH and Learning Difficulties
  • Be available full or part time for the full academic year.
