Pricing AnalystJob Market: InsurancePricing Analyst: About the roleThe Pricing Analyst provides Actuarial pricing support, primarily for the Casualty portfolio (with a focus upon account pricing, benchmark rate reviews and portfolio analyses). The role is strongly client-facing, incorporating support for broker negotiations, pricing support for insureds and involvement in developing new pricing capabilities.The successful applicant will have strong technical pricing skills. A background in modelling for data-rich commercial or personal lines classes will also be an advantage. You will need strong communication skills and commercial awareness in order to provide effective broker and client support.The Pricing Analyst will be located within the Actuarial pricing team in London and work directly with the underwriting team under the guidance of the Head of Pricing / Assistant Pricing Manager.Development of a deep understanding of the Casualty classes, trends, and underwriting team strategyAccount pricing and underwriter support for broker negotiationsOngoing portfolio monitoring for accountsBenchmark rate reviews and other pricing support for insuredsSupporting the collection and maintenance of pricing dataKeeping abreast of industry initiatives and develop new pricing/visualisation techniques and best practice where opportunities ariseCollaborating, presenting, and sharing knowledge with the wider Actuarial team on pricing approaches • Assistance for other pricing team activities as requiredPricing Analyst: Key requirements2.1 or 1st degree in a Maths or Maths-related subject (e.g. Physics, Engineering, Statistics)3 or more strong A’ levels, including MathsMaking good progress towards FIA qualification or equivalentCommitment to actuarial qualification &/or data science as applicable to the London marketSolid pricing experience in general insuranceExperience in pricing for commercial and/or personal lines (or other data-rich classes).Strong IT skills, including comprehensive knowledge of Excel and VBA)EMBLEM, R or PythonSQLExperience in building general linear models (GLM)Experience with Machine Learning models Required skills
