We are recruiting for a PR Managerto join our well-established media relations team at Norton Rose Fulbright in Europe, the Middle and Asia (EMEA).This is an existing role, based in London, reporting into the EMEA Head of PR and a SeniorPR Manager and work alongside a Communications Assistant in the UK.The PR manager is responsible for developing and delivering impactful media campaigns for key sectors, practices, offices and initiatives across EMEA.This is an exciting time to be joining Norton Rose Fulbright in EMEA. With an ambitious senior leadership team, including a new EMEA Director of Communications, there is a strategic imperative to extend the external projection of our brand.Key relationships

  • MBD is a determinedly integrated team across clients, bids, business development, marketing, communications and operations. There will be daily interaction and collaboration with the Head of PR, the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer and thesenior MBD leadership team as well as PR, communication, marketing and BD colleagues from across EMEA. The EMEA PR team works closely with its counterparts across the globe.
  • Other key stakeholders include lawyers and business services from across the EMEA region.
Core responsibilities
  • Working with the EMEA Head of PR to drive forward media relations activity to enhance the profile, brand and reputation of the firm across key sectors, practices, jurisdictions and initiatives.
  • Using existing relationships with trade, national and broadcast journalists to secure press coverage and generate thought leadership opportunities for partners and business services leaders across the EMEA region.
  • Working to defined targets to oversee and implement media relations strategies for key sectors, practice areas, jurisdictions and initiatives, working with internal stakeholders.
  • Provide the full range of proactive and reactive media relations advice and strategic counsel covering long-term profile-raising needs and being a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
  • Create and develop written content, including pitches, press releases and submissions.
  • Working with the Head of PR on significant firm announcements for major appointments and initiatives.
Experience and expertise
  • A proven track record of working in a communications capacity, ideally with journalistic, PR agency and/or in-house experience.
  • Have a strong suite of journalist relationships.
  • Significant experience of working in a multinational, matrixed, fast-moving business.
  • Experience of working alongside agencies, industry bodies and other third-parties on campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Adept at creating and identifying proactive media relations activities and opportunities.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Rigorous attention to detail with strong research and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of social and digital media strategies and tactics that complement traditional media relations activities.
  • Understanding of reporting, monitoring and analysing press coverage to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, to deadline and to target.
  • Ability to work creatively, quickly and accurately under pressure as well as providing rapid reaction statements in response to media enquiries.
  • Intellectual and analytical ability to comprehend, synthesise and simplify complex ideas and issues.
  • Successfully builds internal networks, developing strong relationships with stakeholders - who often have competing demands - to guide and advise them on all aspects of media relations activities.
  • Pragmatic, dynamic and self-motivated.
  • Exceptionally collaborative and a team player.
  • Highly professional, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion and adherence to Norton Rose Fulbright’s values.
  • Knowledge of the major industry sectors that the firm focuses on, including consumer markets; energy, infrastructure and resources; financial institutions; life sciences and healthcare; technology and transport.
