Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a Porter on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Clapham Common with occasional requests to Brixton, when needed.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Sweep, vacuum, mob scrub and polish floors using cleaning industrial machinery.
  1. Dust and wash walls, cleanings and fixtures.
  1. Support the maintenance team in making initial assessments in order to resolve maintenance problems ensuring the College provides a safe environment
  1. Carry out basic plant room checks, checking the toilet for blockages and clearance of if required and flushing of rarely used tap outlets
  1. Support the college operations/curriculum events and hiring bookings by moving furniture and carry out different styles of set up; e.g. College conferences, Open days, Open evenings, Auditions, Presentations, Exams, Capital Talent and other events.
  1. To respond efficiently and effectively to facilities work requests raised by College staff or your line manager
  1. To assist with refuse collection across the college sites.
  1. To spot clean all instances of graffiti and report all instances of vandalism.
  1. To refill dispensers as required and spot check for COVID 19
  1. Carry out deep cleans as instructed by the Estates Operations Manager
  1. To carry out the cleaning of glass, breakages and spillages.
  1. To collect, deliver and accept internal and external mail.
  1. To operate a reception service for post packages requiring signed delivery, record these deliveries in the required method and obtain a signature on delivery and collection.
  1. To carry out reasonable cleaning on emergencies.
