Policy and Scrutiny ManagerLocation: Harrogate - Granby RoadSalary: £38, 376- £41, 718Full TimeFixed TermThe Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire works alongside the Commissioner and across North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the wider partnership landscape to deliver the Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan for North Yorkshire.We are now offering an exciting opportunity for a policy and assurance professional to join the OPFCC as Policy and Scrutiny Manager on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2022. This is an exciting time to join the Office as we move towards PFCC elections and the design of a new Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.You will be working directly with the Commissioner, managing a portfolio that covers all areas of strategic development and scrutiny across policing, fire and rescue and criminal justice, leading a team of Policy and Scrutiny Officers. You will develop and manage key priority work and innovative policy projects to meet needs and address gaps, and engage the Office in new areas of interest. You will manage, implement and assure a range of governance policy, regulation and statutory functions. You will lead the ongoing design, configuration and delivery of the scrutiny programme by which the Commissioner holds North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to account. You will manage key stakeholder relationships including with executive managers, Chief Officer Teams and senior partners and stakeholders locally and nationally.We are looking for a proactive, highly capable individual, with previous experience of policy development and performance management and scrutiny within a large and complex organisation. You will be keen to take the initiative, have a solution-based, analytical approach and work to maximise opportunities, with a proven track record of implementing and developing multiple work streams against well-defined delivery targets. It is essential to possess well-developed communication and interpersonal skills which can be adapted to all levels of the organisation. We will be offering support and development to enable you to make the most of this opportunity.This opportunity is providing secondment cover and is therefore offered fixed-term until the 31 March 2022.
