Job Description

We would like a knowledgeable and analytical person to join as our next Policy Analyst. If you have the ability and skills necessary to maintain and build Genetic Alliance UKs reputation for excellent, innovative and expert policy work, then please apply with a detailed cover letter. The purpose of the role is: To collaborate with colleagues to ensure our messages are evidence-based, accurate and consistent. To meet with and support our member organisations to develop their own policy. To work with Director of Policy and the rest of the Policy Team to deliver policy work that represents the needs of our membership. To be a policy expert in Genetic Alliance UKs policy team, carrying out desk research and analysis and supporting staff with expert policy information where necessary.You will be covering a wide-range of policy topics including genomics, the UK Rare Diseases Framework, innovative medicines, funding decisions for treatments for rare conditions, reproductive choice and much more. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong interest in supporting people living with genetic and rare conditions and the organisations that work for them.Genetic Alliance UK is the national charity working to improve the lives of patients and families affected by all types of genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions. We are a membership organisation made up of over 200 patient groups and we run the Rare Disease UK campaign and the SWAN UK support network.
