In this role you will be positioned at the heart of this influential sector’s efforts to shape policy on international development, at UK level and beyond, at a time of significant change in the UK’s global role.You will have an excellent understanding of international development policy, in particular around aid and financing for development which will be a focus area for this role. You will bring your diplomacy, leadership and facilitation skills, and experience of developing impactful policy and advocacy strategies, to convening agreement between diverse member organisations on effective shared plans. You will be a strong communicator, able to present complex policy messages in simple ways for different audiences including the media and members of the public.You will have solid experience of engaging with the UK Government and policy processes. You will be confident in analysing ODA budgets and complex data sources, drawing conclusions and communicating recommendations effectively. Sound political awareness and understanding of the role of media and public campaigning in influencing policies will enable you to create real impact in this role.Main purpose of the job Working with Policy, Advocacy and Research (PAR) team, particularly Aid Policy and Advocacy Manager (Aid PAM) and Bond members, influence the UK government and other stakeholders on effective aid and development finance policies that will reduce poverty and promote sustainable development.Main responsibilities
