Job Description

A leading fund management industry is seeking a Project Financial Analyst. As part of the Business Finance team, working closely with the Senior Business Finance Analyst provide financial support to specific multi-year transformation programme and to thebroader Operations department.Duties & Responsibilities:Programme Reporting - Project

  • Overall programme financial reporting for senior management
  • Budget vs costs and resource tracking across all workstreams
Forecasting & Analysis - Project
  • Detailed workstream level financial management to maintain and run accounting processes to capture actual costs and cost forecasts
  • Supporting commercial decision making through financial and scenario analysis
  • Analysing financial contractor/vendor salary data, including resource allocation for workstreams
  • Monthly programme expenditure reconciliations against budget
  • Ongoing forecasting of expected project spend vs approved budget, highlighting risks and opportunities to facilitate decision making
  • Reconciliation of project reporting to General Ledger
  • Build strong relationships with workstream leads, PMO, Accounting
Operations - BAU & Project
  • Provide excellent business finance support to the Operations department
  • Support Senior Business Finance analyst as the link between Operations and Business Finance, communicating efficiently with Senior Management up to ExCo level
  • Troubleshoot issues and work to resolution
  • Support the Operations teams with:
  • Regular reporting and analysis:
  • Expense and headcount reporting, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Other operational metrics relevant to Operations
  • Budgeting and forecasting:
  • End-to-end budgeting and forecasting process
  • Develop financial plans and forecasts on an annual, quarterly, and ad hoc basis
  • Ad hoc analysis:
  • Supports cross-functional special projects
  • Actively input into driving process efficiency
  • Proactively identifies and resolves
  • Finance Platform:
  • Participate in projects to enhance or improve the use of the finance technology platform
The role requires:
  • Minimum of 2 years FP&A or management reporting experience preferably across multiple functions
  • Experience of working in a PMO or project environment, preferably within a global programme framework
  • Highly methodical and organised
  • Team player with a flexible, inquisitive, results driven approach
  • Capability to work efficiently within a global team
  • Strong analytical ability with a good attention to detail; ability to analyse data and clearly present relevant financial insights
  • Solid organizational/administrative management skills, with the proven ability to work effectively under pressure, and manage multiple projects and assignments under tight deadlines
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge, influence and manage key stakeholders
  • PowerBI experience (advantageous)
  • Anaplan experience (advantageous)
  • Investment Management industry experience (advantageous)
  • Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent
