Job Description

You might have already made the jump to the Commercial world, or it could be a leap youre mulling over, but we need an International Sales Specialist whos a bona fide Spectroscopy and Photonics whiz. These sorts of positions dont come around all that often, and its a pretty niche space. Youll be selling across the UK and Europe to some of the leading Research labs, Academic Institutions and Government Agencies, working hand in hand with the Scientists there to provide some of the best Optical Imaging Devices on the planet.Your profile:Its a very technically focussed role, and youll need to be very familiar not only with Spectroscopy as a method, but also an in depth understanding of the base components in Photonics, and how they all fit together.

  • Commercially focussed - You might be a Photonics Sales Professional already, or someone looking to move into the industry. Youll need to have a commercial mind-set though as this is a Sales position first and foremost.
  • Technical know-how - This role goes beyond general Spectroscopy usage, and into the science behind how Spectrometers work. For that reason, youll need to have a strong understanding of what makes them tick at a component level.
  • Happy with the travel! - Up to 40% of this role will be done in field. With that in mind, being based within an hour of an international airport is a must. The preference is for this to be in the UK, but theyll look at candidates across the EU.
  • Whats in it for me
  • Training! - Whether youre a Sales professional already, or a Technical Specialist with strong expertise in building spectroscopy units, youll be mentored by a highly successful Sales Manager leading the EMEA territory.
  • No office based working- Obviously youll need to be there occasionally, but this role is officially home and field based
  • International exposure - A significant client list is in the UK, but EMEA travel will a regular part of your work
  • Cutting edge equipment - Theyre a leader in their field, both hardware and software and are built on innovation
  • Input to strategy - Youll be a crucial part of the team, handling your own territory of leading institutions
  • Opportunity for great networks - Theyre always looking to partner with the worlds leading scientists. Working alongside the Product Management Teams, youll be the technical expert to talk things over, the person they consult for new solutions and the face of the organisation to them.
  • Broad package with Commercial perks - Including a Commission scheme and multiple other benefits on top of a negotiable salary.
  • …and whore the business
  • Founded on innovation - Its cliché, but true: the equipment the Founders had as students wasnt suitable for their Research, so they built the high-performance technology they needed
  • University spin-out - Theres an academic base to the company, and theyre truly built on their science. The university the founders studied at saw their potential and funded the project
  • Financial Success - The parent company (of which this business is part) listed on the stock exchange over 30 years ago - stocks have risen 1,355% in value over the last ten
