Job Description

PhD Software Developer - GreenTechDo you want to help consumers make the transition to a sustainable futureDo you have strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals and algorithmsA fast-growing start-up in the GreenTech industry, which currently employs 30 tech individuals (wider group is approximately 100) and specialises in developing consumer products for sustainable energy, is currently seeking a skilled PhD Software Developerto join their team.In this PhD Software Developer position, you will work alongside 25 other engineers on several greenfield projects, building frameworks and databases from scratch. This company prioritises technology with a focus on making a positive impact, and as such,they have no technological debt. As the PhD Software Developer, you will be expected to possess a thorough understanding of Computer Science, as well as experience in domain modelling, requirement engineering, design, and initial bootstrapping.Tech stack: Java 18 (upgrading to Java 19), some C, microservices, AWS, and Kubernetes (with some Vue.js and Node.js on the frontend)You, as the PhD Software Developer (GreenTech), will be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • A PhD degree in Computer Science
  • Commercial software development experience, ideally in Java or C, is desired
  • Experience with Advanced Computer Science Algorithms, Graph Theory, Interval Graphs, Compiler Theory
  • An innovative mindset, want to be part of a disruptive scale-up and want to contribute to product ideas
  • Passion to work in a Tech For Good sector improving the sustainable lifestyle of consumer
