Job Description

About The Facility:HCA Healthcare UK – The World’s largest private hospital group; providing award winning acute and complex care.At The Harley Street Clinic, we provide a range of complex care services for adults, children and babies, specialising in oncology, cardiology and neuroscience. From open heart surgery on new-born babies to pioneering techniques to treat cancer, our clinicians work together to provide the best possible care and treatments for our patients. Our staff always go the extra mile in caring for our patients which can be demonstrated by our recent outstanding rating awarded by the CQC.We have separate paediatric and adult intensive care units (ICUs), and our paediatric ICU is the largest private facility in Europe, with 18 beds. This allows us to support cardiology, cardiac, thoracic, cancer, spinal and other major treatments for children. We have 103 beds in total, including nine adult ICU beds offering the highest level of one-to-one care.As the Pharmacy Technician you will assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meet the needs of all service users. You will deputise, for the Dispensary Lead Technician in their absence. This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week (flexibility is required with these hours)The salary is attractive and competitive salary, full time, permanent role.   • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of dispensary services and to ensure all pharmacy/ ward/patient service needs are met in liaison with the Dispensary Lead Technician.
  • If in possession of a valid ACPT qualification, to final check prescriptions according to the ACPT policy.
  • Ensure that medicines and consumables are stored safely and securely according to the corporate medication policy and hospital protocol.
  • Ensure stock rotation, cycle counts and routine expiry date checks are completed.
  • Provide medication counselling to patients.
  • Ensure that the day to day procurement and stock control levels of medicines and consumables is maintained
  • Assist in ensuring provision of an efficient, accurate and economical ward top-up service via Omnicell and according to hospital procedures
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Registered member of the GPC
  • NVQ3 in pharmacy
  • Significant experience within a hospital pharmacy environment (essential)
  • Aseptic and/or medicine management experience (desirable )
