Job Description

Job title: Personnel Security AdvisorLocation: Preston. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on skills and experienceWhat youll be doing:

  • Responsible to the Head of Security for day-to-day personnel security operations across Shared Services business to protect critical assets in line with Company strategies and Company/Government/Customer policies, standards, and best practice
  • Ensuring Shared Services activities complies with relevant Government security requirements and function as Security Controller for the Preston site
  • Coordinating and managing oversight of Vetting Records System, ensuring Data Quality is maintained to agreed levels
  • Providing day to day management of the VRS ensuring that service manuals are up to date and maintained, users are trained, account management, etc
  • Providing Personnel security SME support to all Shared Services Lines of Business esp. recruitment, incl. management of personnel security service providers
  • Developing and maintain relationships internally and externally, especially with UK Government security regulatory agencies (Cabinet Office, MOD, UKSV, etc.), Law Enforcement and Industry partners
  • Providing specialist personnel security advice and briefings to all Shared Service staff.
  • Coordinating and manage personnel security audits of Shared Services Lines of Business on mitigations/remedial actions
  • Supporting/delivering security related investigations and breaches as appropriate
  • Providing support to business continuity plans, contingency planning, and incident management for Shared Services
Your skills and experiences:
  • Knowledge of personnel security controls
  • Experience in conducting assurance activities - ideally within a security setting
  • Experience of investigations - ideally within a security perspective
  • Experience of managing the delivery of personnel, physical and operational security in a regulated environment
  • Understanding / working knowledge of risk management methodologies and concepts within security
  • Stakeholder, project, risk and financial management skills and the ability to schedule, monitor and improve programme delivery
